Have I Told You How Much I Love You? 1

After years of being away from home, he was back, but nothing was the same as before. The old man, who was his father, and his beloved younger sister were already dead.

Ye Xiaozu scoffed inwardly. Until his last breath, his father refused to acknowledge him as his legitimate successor. Did he really think that he, Ye Xiaozu wouldn't find a chance to fight back?

Before his return, he made sure to purchase all the minor shares of the Ye Corporation in the stock market. Damn that old man, did he really think that he could stop him from succeeding the company?

He hadn't been back since his sister's burial seven years ago. Memories of her was still fresh in his mind, making the pain caused by the loss more apparent than it already was. There were nights that he dreamt of her smiling at him, yet Ye Xiaozu knew that she wasn't truly happy that he wasn't able to see her one last time.

If there was an afterlife, Ye Xiaozu hoped that his sister, Ye Yimei would be happy. There would be no more pain for her, but the pain of her death still lingered in his heart. He wished there was something he could have done before her passing, but that never happened.

After he was exiled by his own father, Ye Xiaozu heard that his sister had been kicked out from the family for some reason. Though he couldn't figure out the exact reason, he couldn't understand the kind of father he and Yimei had. Did they really deserve to be treated like trash?

He only found out about her passing after a year and a half. He was heartbroken to hear that she died from cancer and was alone when she passed away.

It was the biggest regret in Ye Xiaozu's life. For Ye Yimei to suffer alone without anyone by her side, he couldn't imagine how hard it was for his sister. She should have told him, or better yet, he should have exerted more efforts to find her.

The reason for his and his sister's suffering was already gone from this world, yet Ye Xiaozu would never be at peace, not like this.

He stood before Ye Yimei's grave with a stiff posture. Ye Yimei was only twenty one when she died from cancer that had metastasized before the doctors were able to start her on chemotherapy and other treatments.

Ye Xiaozu's hands clenched on his sides. Even in her dire situation, their father still refused to extend a hand to help his sister and let her die the same way their mother did; from cancer.

"Your father… your father seems to have lost his mind ever since your mother died." One of their family friends commented during Yi Yimei's funeral. "He's definitely a different person now, Young Master Ye."

Ye Xiaozu bent down on one knee to place the bouquet of flowers he brought with him, but he also didn't fail to notice that there was a fresh bouquet of flowers on his sister's gravel.

Someone was here before him?

Ye Xiaozu couldn't think of anyone who would visit his sister on her death anniversary aside from…His jaws hardened, eyes turned cold. What were the odds that his and Lu Tianxin's paths would cross again?

He shook his head. No. it was clear that he and Lu Tianxin could never be together anymore. Not when he was about to marry another woman. Still, the thought of her smiling face was still able to make his heart skip a beat.

Isn't it ironic when the person who gave you the best memories ends up becoming nothing more than a memory? While Ye Xiaozu didn't have many fond memories with his family, Lu Tianxin had given him the best years of his life.

It was Yi Yimei who introduced him to her. Years ago, just like any pompous young master of a wealthy family, Ye Xiaozu was a proud man and went around like he already knew everything.

However, he didn't anticipate meeting Lu Tianxin through his sister after he finished his master's degree. He'd never thought that a woman with a bubbly nature like her would be able to thaw his cold heart.

Ye Xiaozu thought that they would always be together, but her rejection of his pleas to come with him to Singapore ruined that impression. With teary eyes, Lu Tianxin refused to come with him and chose to stay, not giving him the real reason for her rejection.

Feeling betrayed by her, Ye Xiaozu had given her an ultimatum. It was either she would come with him or they would part ways forever.

"Then I'm sorry, Xiaozu. I'm staying here in Shenzhen. I pray for your safe journey." Lu Tianxin released his hand and turned her back on him.

Ye Xiaozu was stunned into silence and was rooted on the spot where Lu Tianxin had left him. It took him some time before he realized that just like the rest of his family, Lu Tianxin had abandoned him.

Shaking the memories from his mind, Ye Xiaozu turned to go back to his car and ignited its engine. His phone rang and he answered on the second ring.

"What is it?"

"President Ye, the Tang Enterprise wishes to set an appointment with you." His assistant informed him.

"Tang Moyu requested it?" He'd already expected this to happen soon.

"No, Sir. Gu Yuyao and Lu Tianxin requested to meet you."

At the mention of Lu Tianxin's name, Ye Xiaozu's hands tightened on the steering wheel.
