"Where did you get all of this?" Lena's eyes darted back and forth as she stared at her phone.
"Just a little something extra we managed to pick up from one of the lovely captives. Unexpected really. We had a bit of a guess that would be on it. Just needed the right person to help us confirm it." Jovani replied.
"Obviously not something anyone was supposed to get ahold of. Just a happy little accident that gives us a bonus."
It had been quite some time since the Princess laid her eyes on something so detailed. Obviously, someone wanted to do a thorough job of collecting so much information. What for? Names with corresponding connections, jobs, and organizations. A little too convenient? Perhaps.
"Is the person who got this information the one that Alonso was with?"
"Do you happen to know who they are? Your expression earlier told me you might. Wouldn't be a surprise with everyone your father knows." Jovani countered her question with one of his own.
"I do. I just want to know if they are the ones responsible for taking care of this information for us." Lena downloaded the attachment to her phone. She didn't want to risk losing it. Later, she would give it to Hester to look over."They helped. Not exactly someone Alonso is fond of. They worked together well enough for this though." Jovani glanced down at his right shoulder, feeling as his phone vibrated in his pocket. Another call? The other shouldn't have already finished up already.
"Who? I thought that you said they were just so random mercenary you were hiring?" John turned his head to look at the other while turning on the right blinker to get off the interstate. They were almost finally at their destination. Once parked, he would be much happier. Driving at night wasn't exactly easy on the eyes.
"He is a random mercenary. Random in the sense that he's someone you wouldn't know." Jovani confirmed, frowning as he pulled his phone out. A missed call and texts stared back at him. Alonso must've done something.
"He's someone who has a lot of connection. One I'm rather interested in finding." Lena added.
"I wasn't aware that you knew him though." Jovani let out a rather loud and amused laugh.
"Actually for once, this isn't someone that I know. The person who knows him is actually the same one who apparently just knocked him out. I don't think that we will be able to get any more questions out of him any time soon." The texts didn't exactly read as frantic. More a cross between stressed and frustrated. Another delay before his right-hand man would be back at his side. It was important though for one to clean up the mess they made.
"Right now isn't the time to be worried about that. As you can see princess, we've reached our destination." Jovani pointed out the front windshield to a rather dull gray-looking building.
"I wouldn't exactly call it anything luxurious. It's not like they need it though. After all, their stay probably won't be of the extended kind." Despite the still throbbing headache, Lena didn't hesitate to start unlocking her door and seatbelt. She barely got to turning the handle however before the child lock kicked in.
"Not so fast princess. We need to talk about a few things before you go marching in there." Again with him preventing her from doing what she wanted?"What exactly is there to talk about? We both know what needs to be done here. Who does what just depends on who gets inside first." The princess's tone once again turned sharp.
"It's already taken us far longer than expected to get here. Rather than wasting more time, I would prefer to focus on getting what we need already. Unlock the car."
"I couldn't agree with you more. That doesn't mean though we should just go in there without a plan. I would like to try a few things before we go about taking on your method." Jovani undid his own seatbelt after putting his phone away once again. He carefully turned around in his seat to face the other while avoiding hurting his injured arm.
"We just need to discuss how far exactly we are wanting to go. Not like you don't have experience with this, I just think that it is better we are on the same page."
"There isn't any same page for us to be on. You're injured so you're not going to be taking part in this. You've already done more than enough by making sure they're here." Jovani blinked a few times.
"I'm not the only one injured. In fact, if we are going about it based on injuries, John here would be the one taking care of everything." The young driver glanced over but kept his main focus upfront, thrumming his thumbs against the steering wheel. The decision they made didn't matter, he just wanted to be able to get out of the car.
"A concussion isn't anything that serious. Even at a fair distance, I would be able to hit any target without missing. I don't think the same can be said about your arm." The fire in her eyes had begun to burn again. Someone wouldn't be willing to back down unless they got their way.
"Fine. How about then we decide once we get in there? Once you get the chance to talk with them. We can make up our decision after that."
"Unlock the car door then so we can go inside and take care of this." Jovani didn't get a chance to say or do anything before John fulfilled the request.
"Is this mutiny?" The Vedova Nera boss raised an eyebrow at his subordinate.
"No. I would simply just prefer if you would take your argument away from here. Preferably to inside over there or out there where she's already at. I don't like having a gun inside here." John was right, Lena had already stepped out of the car and didn't seem intent on waiting for Jovani. Obviously, the little princess was more than ready for bloodshed.
"We are going to have to talk about this later. Put it on the list of things along with the right way to address me." Opening the car door, he slammed it behind himself in his rush to catch up with the other.
Jovani did warn her it wasn't luxurious inside. What he didn't tell though about though were the exact conditions of those being kept inside.
