Chapter 182: We’re Just Squabbling with Each Other (2)
The word “squabble” itself had a certain ambiguity. One could say that this word was exclusively meant for the couple who flaunted their affections to others.
If a couple quarreled, to put it mildly, that was called an incoherent relationship between the couple. But, with the word “squabble” added to it, the meaning could turn out completely different.
All the members of the Zhao family including the former master, Duan Yarong and Zhao Shunrong thought that Zhao Youlin had always been the one whose love was unrequited in her marriage with Mu Tingfeng.
However, today, the two personally told the rest that all the rumors of disagreement were all but a squabble with each other, which was also an act of romance between them. They were so shocked that their jaws dropped.
Meanwhile, Mu Tingfeng’s entire body unwittingly tensed up the moment Zhao Youlin leaned close to him. Unlike how he had repelled against other women, this time, he felt… nervous.
Even though Mu Tingfeng had made intimate contact with Zhao Youlin several times in the elevator and inside the small room, having her getting close to him passively or actively getting close to her were completely two different concepts.
Mu Tingfeng tried hard to hold back his uncontrollable and overwhelming emotions, which rarely happened. A hint of faint glee darted across his eyes.
On the surface, Mu Tingfeng and Zhao Youlin were hugging each other tightly and leaning on one another. The sight was incredibly harmonious. However, behind Mu Tingfeng’s back, only the two knew that a wicked hand mercilessly pinched his waist, because it was close to him.
The intense pain got Mu Tingfeng’s stoic face to slightly twist for a moment. One could only say that the moment of sweetness always comes with a heartache that was unseen by others.
With the bittersweet feeling in Mu Tingfeng’s heart, he heaved a sigh. He reached out and grabbed her hand that had been harassing his waist without leaving a single bit of trace in order to stop her from continuing to mess up.
Zhao Youlin lost her greatest weapon for revenge. So, she glared at Mu Tingfeng fiercely. Considering the group of witnesses in front of them, only then did she calm down, which she rarely did.
Unbeknownst to them, not only was Xia Zhetao, but also Duan Yarong and Zhao Shunrong, who had been standing behind them, had seen everything.
The interaction between Mu Tingfeng and Zhao Youlin did not arouse their suspicion. Instead, this had reinforced the fact that the two had a really good relationship, and everything before was just a squabble between themselves.
When they realized this, the way Duan Yarong looked at the two became incredibly complicated within an instant.
“How is it possible…?! How is it possible…?! You guys obviously fought with each other, how can you suddenly… I don’t believe it, you guys must be deceiving us!” Sun Fengzi froze for some time before she cried out in a high-pitched voice.
“How is that not possible?” Mu Tingfeng raised his eyebrows. A hint of appalling murderous intent flashed across his sinister gaze. “Certainly no one could understand our marriage life better than ourselves. When I say we had a squabble, it was a squabble. Madam Fengzi, do you have any opinion on my words?”
“I…” Sun Fengzi choked. When she was about to retort, Mu Tingfeng once again interrupted her and said dominantly, “Madam Fengzi, even if you have an opinion about our issue, it won’t do us any harm. After all, this affair is between Youlin and me. It’s not for others to judge. Do you think Youlin and I have to report to you about everything we do?”
Mu Tingfeng spoke the words without hesitation. Sun Fengzi’s face turned white and was boiling with rage. In spite of it all, she dared not burst out before this man.
The reason why the Mu family was so powerful was not only because of their outstanding achievements that were unattainable by ordinary beings, but it was also mostly because of the powerful and mysterious backup behind them.
Even until this day, no one was able to figure out clearly how many big shots were behind the Mu family’s back. However, all Sun Fengzi knew was that the person behind the Mu family’s back was certainly someone so ruthless to the point that even the people at higher positions were afraid of.
When Zhao Youlin married into the Mu family a few years ago, Sun Fengzi’s father had already warned her that she could do whatever she wanted in the Zhao family as long as she did not cause any deaths. Otherwise, he could protect her and help her to fix it.
However, for one thing, she should never provoke the members of the Mu family, especially the young master Mu. Otherwise, he might not be able to protect his precious daughter.
Sun Fengzi had not taken it seriously back then. She only wondered why did the young master Mu marry the rascal when he was so wealthy and powerful.
Even so, Sun Fengzi remembered her father’s words. All these years, she had intentionally avoided the Mu family to prevent a head-on conflict with them.
If not for the fact that Zhao Youlin had not been doted on by Mu Tingfeng since she married into the family, coupled with the fact that she had divorced from Mu Tingfeng just recently and even been driven out of the Mu family, and in addition to that, Sun Fengzi and her family had arrived late at the former master’s grand birthday banquet and so, she had not noticed Mu Tingfeng’s appearance nor even realized Mu Tingfeng’s attitude toward Zhao Youlin had changed, Sun Fengzi would never dare to come to cause Zhao Youlin trouble so blatantly.
Today, Mu Tingfeng’s words had undoubtedly delivered a slap to Sun Fengzi’s face before the public. Yet, Sun Fengzi could not have the wishful thinking of returning the same to him after this. That was nothing more aggravating than this.
Seeing Sun Fengzi’s expression turned white because of what he said, Mu Tingfeng still had not had enough. He dropped another bombshell expressionlessly, “It doesn’t matter if some of you don’t believe me. If nothing goes wrong, we’ll be having a remarriage in the near future. By then, we will invite all of you to celebrate the event with us.”
‘Huh?! Remarriage?!’ Zhao Youlin abruptly turned her head and looked at Mu Tingfeng.
Even though Zhao Youlin did not expect this man to play by rules. But, how could he simply say something like having a remarriage?
Moreover, the words especially came from the person who had wanted to divorce her by all means. Wasn’t this joke a bit too exaggerated?
“Mu Tingfeng, are you just fooling around?!” Zhao Youlin’s expression changed slightly and she spoke in a low voice that only the two of them could hear.
Mu Tingfeng instinctively tightened his grip when he was confronted by Zhao Youlin’s question. His expression was dark and asked, “Do you think things like this can be considered a joke?”
Zhao Youlin narrowed her eyes. She stared at MuTingfeng’s serious demeanor as if staring at a fool, and his expression did not look fake. She thought all this was incredibly absurd.
‘If all these are no jokes, are all of them real, then? Who is the one who doesn’t come home so often and hardly meets up even once in half a month? Who is the guy who had wanted a divorce so aggressively during the first call?!
‘Now, you abruptly told everyone on the spot that you’re going to remarry me?! President Mu, do you have a few screws loose in your head?!’
Zhao Youlin’s eyes were apparently filled with killing intent. When Xia Zhetao saw this, he instantly understood everything. The president must have announced their remarriage without the former Mrs. President’s consent, again. He had taken the liberty to make the decision on her behalf and acted on it without her prior approval.
Going straight from first base to third base. ‘President, aren’t you amazing?! Haven’t you thought that the former Mrs. President might fight back?!’
When Xia Zhetao recalled Zhao Youlin’s brutal look previously, he covered his face discreetly. He fearfully thought that this was after all the family affair between the two and so, they should settle it on their own. He just wanted to be an onlooker. He did not want to be the pitiful cannon fodder.
