Chapter 424 Finding Clues
(Live Stream Commentary)
"Ladies and Gentleman, I will narrate the situation till now for everyone so the new viewers can watch it later to get the full picture because I am sure we will be spending quite some time watching the conclusion of Sky City," Zero said, and following a brief pause, commenced the explanation, aided by visual aids.
"Halagax was given a quest to free a criminal prisoned in the special area of the Seraphian clan dungeon, and knowing fully well his success will bring the doom of the city, he accepted the request,"
"But Halagax knew that, with an anomaly like Ruler in his team who can track his general location at all times as his team member, he could very well become a problem,"
"So to avoid any mishap, or to try his luck with making an attempt on Ruler's life, who had shown multiple times how resourceful of a man he is, Halagax created the plan to give his team a false mission, to divert their attention, so thing go smoothly for him,"
"Klaed, the mysterious NPC, who is a member of the Seraphian clan, used his knowledge to create a quest that will lead nowhere, at least that's what he believes, and also ensure that Halagax will be in the perfect place at the perfect time, to do his work,"
"Halagax purposefully made the comments on the Seraphian patriarch and his daughters, knowing well that a Seraphian clan elder was present which was lured there by Klaed,"
"After learning about the team, Klaed knew very well that after the stunt pulled by Halagax, his team would prefer leaving him in the prison cell because taking him with them would be of little help, but even if they did try to free him, they had planned a solution for it," "However, if Halagax was killed, then the whole plan would fall apart, but that is an unlikely outcome as no player will want to kill their own team member without a justified cause, or they will gain the disdain of billions of viewers," Zero said, and after a short pause continued.
"Now the plan Klaed had for Halagax required him to be prisoned, make his escape right when the Elder guarding the dungeon is lured out, and use that opportunity to change his form using his unique skill and then free a prisoner,"
"The prisoner holds a dark core that Klaed needs to gain great strength to exact his revenge on the Seraphian clan, and if he succeeds, then the city will, instead of falling to the beats, fall at his hand,"
"The good news is that while the players have no expectation of defeating the empowered Klaed, they had little hope of protecting the city with brute strength or tactics even if Klaed failed, but they still have hope,"
"Their only hope of saving the city is the lost energy core of the Seraphian clan's mighty weapon,"
"Klaed may think the quest he gave will lead to nowhere, but in reality, with quite some effort, the team could locate all the clues leading them to the energy core, but it would be anything but easy,"
"However, if they successfully secured the core in time, then they have a chance to kill not only the empowered Klaed but even defend the main city," Zero said, ending his explanation and shifting the focus back to live events.

'These could be just lines or incomplete alphabets, but surely they are not natural corrosion,' Alex thought as he used his special eyes to inspect the cell numbered twenty night on the fourth floor.
After leaving the cell, Alex didn't visit any of his teammates but instead went straight to the fourth floor to the marked cell to see what he could find.
Alex found a number of markings carved into or on the hard stones of the walls, a few marked with magic hidden from sight and senses like an old imprint that had lost its color yet was still present, and others carved into the stones with brute strength, hidden under the veil of erosion.
Alex scanned the room, dividing the letter into two sections, separating the magic imprints from physical lines, creating a third section with all imprints, and making the system convert and create sentences in any way it could.
The translation of the magic writing was a man cursing the Seraphian clan, taunting them and their lineage, while the rest were just words and names, regrets, and such from various prisoners.
Alex made the system look for clues, but it found nothing, which was to be expected as the system scanning feature was too basic, so he opened the event shop without wasting a moment and began searching for useful services that could help him. While the event shop had nothing game-changing available, essential things that players could need, from trap scrolls, potions, information about various important NPCs, and even clues related to quests, could be bought.
Alex swiftly located the "information extractor," a service that scanned all the gathered data of a quest, and depending on the level of service the player had bought, it gave results.
Alex bought the gold-level service, spending 200K of his points, and moments later, the transparent screen showed the main island and two of its sections having overlapping red outlines above them with an explanation on the side.
'There are seven loot sights in these two area, and the core or at least the next clue should be found in one of them,'
'The fifth-day battle should be ongoing for around four hours, and if we separate into teams of two, we should be able to cover all the loot sites in ten to fifteen hours, depending on how lucky we can get,' Alex thought, as he closed the window and left the cell.
'Now the question is, should I free Halagax as extra help will make things go faster, but if he is on a mission to take us down, then he would only carry us trouble,'
'I would like to kill him, but doing so would only carry harm to me and my organization,' Alex thought as he stopped before the first of the cell.
Alex, one by one, freed three of his team members, telling each of them what he had found in a marked cell, and then told them his decision not to take Halagax with them and let him stay inside the dungeon.
Alex had thought of taking Halagax with him out so he could keep eyes on him, as he felt that he was hiding something from the team and had some hidden agenda, but as they only had sixty most to recover the core at most, he didn't want to take the risk of wasting his time or being forced to utilize his skills.
The team didn't argue with his choice, as they was aware that without Alex, they would be stuck in prison for much more time or would be forced to waste a large sum of their individual points to break free.
The team drank high-grade invisibility potions and, without facing any issues, left the dungeon. Once outside, Alex and Lady Rosalba formed one team, while Nereus and the Monk formed a second team before they quickly departed for opposite sides of the island.
