Chapter 319: So, He Had Always Known She Was That Brainless Fan!
“My Goddess, remember to record my idol’s breathing. Just his breathing will do. It would be for the benefit of all his fans. Please? T.T”
Xu Moyan, “…”
‘There’s no way I would ever let you hear that!’
She suddenly remembered that Wei Zilin had used his Yu Linling’s account to follow her, so she clicked onto Yu Linling’s Weibo.
The fans were right. The number of accounts he was following had changed from ‘0’ to ‘1’. When she looked at who he was following, it was her Weibo account – Silent M.
There was a warm feeling of contentment knowing she was the only one.

Such an arrogant account that followed no one with a ‘0’ conspicuously attached to it. Now that it had changed to ‘1’, it looked more conspicuous than usual.
For Xu Moyan, the number ‘1’ was akin to saying her she was the only one he truly cared about.
What surprised her was that Wei Zilin had posted a new update at four in the morning. It was a post of her cooking video.
Now that she thought about it, he had gotten home at around two am in the morning. Adding on the voiceover with other post-production work on the video would take some time. He had posted it at around 4 am in the morning and later worked on refining the statement. He must have not slept the whole night!
The words accompanying the post were simple. There was only one sentence. “You said you weren’t confident with your voice, which was why you’ve never said anything in your videos. In that case, let me be the voiceover for our video. The only thing I’m sorry about was that it was not in time for Valentine’s Day.”
Xu Moyan clicked on the video. It was the video she posted of the chocolate cake she made yesterday.
The voiceover was straightforward. It was made according to the subtitles she had added post-production and it was voiced word for word. Even though it was as simple as reading out ingredients, but because of Wei Zilin’s elegant, clear and classy sounding voice, it transformed her cooking video into a high-quality one. It looked even better than the ‘A Bite of China’ series.
At the very end, the cake was finished and there were no more subtitles, but Wei Zilin’s elegant, warm voice was once again heard. There was a sliver of regret in his tone.
“I’m sorry that I didn’t get to try your Valentine’s Day cake this time around. I wonder if I’ll get the opportunity to have it again in the future.”
Yu Linling’s comment box exploded because of this short video.
“My sovereign one, you are confessing your love, aren’t you?!”
“T.T, my idol, are you confessing your love to my Goddess?”
“Oh wow, the way my idol confesses his love is really unique.”
“My little soul has been crushed a million times because my idol has confessed his love to someone else.”
“I still don’t understand how the two of you met. Is it really because we tried to match-make you?”
“No wonder the fingers holding those chopsticks in the photo of my sovereign one looked so familiar. Those were the fingers of my Goddess!”
Someone had started the trend of adding Silent M at the back of every comment posted.
There were many netizens who had followed the trend. Xu Moyan finally understood why were there so many people adding her on her Weibo.
But…
Xu Moyan stiffened as she stood open-mouthed in bewilderment.
Did Wei Zilin know who she was all along? Did he know she was a fan of Yu Linling?
She suddenly remembered the first time Yu Linling took part in the YY activity. Even though it was not too long ago, Xu Moyan felt that it happened years back. It felt like something that had long passed.
The night when she did something incredibly stupid in front of him, she coincidentally bumps into him at Lin Yi the very next day.
Could it be that he already knew who she was then?
If so, he really does have superb hearing!
She had listened to him for six years before recognizing his voice. Yet, he had only heard a few sentences from her and could immediately recognize who the voice belonged to.
Xu Moyan groaned and cupped her face with her hands.
So, he had known all along she was that one brainless fan!
And here she thought she had hidden it so well.
She suddenly felt too embarrassed to see him, but she felt not even the slightest tinge of anger toward Wei Zilin.
This was common behavior amongst fans and their idols. Her idol could do no wrong in her eyes. Anyway, her idol was now her boyfriend. It was just a small matter and was not worth being mad over.
So, Xu Moyan hopped back onto her Weibo account and discreetly placed her secret affection for Yu Linling out into the open by following him.
When she went back to Wei Zilin’s main account page, she saw the notification bar below inform everyone that they were following each other.
Why was this such a good feeling?
Xu Moyan laughed to herself. The change was immediately spotted by attentive fans.
“My idol and Goddess are following each other. This is the rhythm of their relationship!”
Xu Moyan was looking at the screen when suddenly Zheng Yuntong’s screaming could be heard from afar as she scampered into the room. She only stopped when she was right next to Xu Moyan.
“I’ve seen it on Weibo, I’ve seen it on Weibo! Both of you are so crazy showing off your relationship on Weibo!” Zheng Yuntong grabbed hold of Xu Moyan’s shoulders as she shouted at her.
Xu Moyan waited for her to calm down before saying, “Is this really considered showing off?”
Zheng Yuntong glared at her. “How can it not be? I never thought my boss could be such a romantic! He could make a single person feel lonely to the point of death when he’s in love! How did he even manage to think up such a romantic way to profess his love?”
Xu Moyan glanced at the open Weibo page again before suddenly standing up to head to the washroom.
“Hey, what’re you doing?” Zheng Yuntong followed her and asked.
Xu Moyan cleaned up quickly and said, “I’m going to the supermarket to get more ingredients for a cake.”
There was still self-rising flour and castor sugar at home, but they had run out of chocolate. She had to get out to buy more.
“You haven’t had breakfast, right? Do you want me to buy some?” Xu Moyan asked.
“That would be great. I feel like having tofu pudding and fried dough fritters from the breakfast stall by the entrance, and some sugar cake,” Zheng Yuntong quickly said.
It was a cold day and she felt too lazy to go out. She initially planned to throw together a simple breakfast.
“Sure,” Xu Moyan quickly dressed up and wore a coat out for the chilly weather.
She went to the supermarket and came back with the ingredients, along with breakfast. In fact, by the time she returned with breakfast, it was late enough for it to be eaten as lunch instead.
As it was the weekend, everyone was sleeping in, which was why the breakfast stalls close shop later in the day.
Xu Moyan quickly wolfed down her breakfast and went to the kitchen to begin preparing to make the cake.
She placed all the ingredients out and took a picture of them after some thought.
Wei Zilin no longer attempted to hide his identity as Yu Linling, so there was no need for Xu Moyan to be cautious around that.
She reposted the Wei Zilin’s video and added a picture of her ingredients before posting, “I’m getting ready to make the cake now. You can have it today.”
Her heartrate shot up as an intense feeling of nervousness swept over her after posting the image. This was nothing less than confirming the recent conspiracies of her fans.
Xu Moyan was still not used to so openly showing off her relationship online.
Not long after she posted the message, Xu Moyan placed her phone down as she was too mortified of seeing her fans’ reactions. She took out the scale and cake mold from the kitchen and started to make the cake.
Her phone rang all of a sudden.
Xu Moyan picked up the phone to see that it was Wei Zilin calling her.
Was he done with work?
Xu Moyan pressed her hand against her chest. She could not stop her heart from beating wildly. She picked up the phone and answered lightly, “Hello.”
“It’s me. I’m done with work and am heading to your house. I saw the message you posted on Weibo,” Wei Zilin said as he paused a moment before continuing with a joyful spark in his tone.
Xu Moyan wondered if it was that post she had just uploaded. Even though it took her quite a while to muster up the courage to post it, it was still quite embarrassing that he read it.
Wei Zilin quickly added, “I read the post you just uploaded. You haven’t started making the cake, have you?”
Xu Moyan shook her head but suddenly realized that Wei Zilin would not be able to see her reaction. So, she said, “No, I haven’t. I’ve only just prepared the ingredients.”
“Will it be done by the time I reach?” Wei Zilin asked.
Xu Moyan hesitated before answering, “I don’t think so. It’s going to take quite some time. Did you stay up the whole night?”
Wei Zilin had just left his office and was walking towards his car. He pinched the corner of his eye. The cold wind had blown away his fatigue and he was wide awake now.
“It’s nothing. All I did was a few voiceovers for the video. I got a friend to help me out with the post-production. I rested two hours before working on the statement. It’s usually this way when I’m busy with work. I’m used to it,” said Wei Zilin.
Xu Moyan wondered if it was just his words, but it sounded like he was a little tired.
She remembered that he had posted the video at 4 am. That was in the middle of the night and he actually managed to get a friend to help with post-production for the video at such odd hours?
She did not know what else to say, so she put the matter aside and said, “You didn’t rest well. I’m worried about the safety of your driving. Why don’t you rest a while in the office? I’ll head over to Lin Yi once I’m done with the cake.”
Wei Zilin had already opened his car door. When he heard Xu Moyan’s words, his lips curved upwards. “I told you last night that I’d like to go on a date with you tonight. I don’t want to rest now; I want to see you immediately. I was highly efficient at work this morning because I was motivated to see you as fast as possible.”
