Chapter 734   - Third Bun Is Out of Question (2)

Just as Tang Moyu thought that she only needed to worry about one pregnant friend of hers, she and Feng Tianyi received a call from He Lianchen informing them that Gu Yuyao had started her labor.

The two drove to the same hospital where Li Meili stayed a week ago. This time they rushed to the delivery room and found He Lianchen and Song Fengyan outside waiting for them.

"Could you please sit and stop walking back and forth? You are making me feel dizzy," Song Fengyan told He Lianchen who was too nervous and worried at the same time.

Gu Yuyao had been in labor for more than fourteen hours now, and each hour felt too long in He Lianchen's opinion.

"Calm down, Lianchen. Gu Yuyao will be fine," Feng Tianyi reassured as he took a seat next to his wife, while Tang Moyu looked around, making sure no suspicious people were watching them.

He Lianchen finally took a seat across them and ran a hand over his face. Ever since Gu Yuyao started to go into labor, he'd been like a headless chicken who didn't know what to do next.

"That's so easy for you to say, Tianyi. You don't know the feeling of knowing you couldn't do anything to ease your wife's birth pain." When He Lianchen realized how callous his words were, he immediately apologized to Feng Tianyi.

"It's fine." Feng Tianyi dismissed his apology. "I've missed a lot of milestones of Baobao and Little Star but that couldn't be helped. I knew nothing about them or their existence as my children that time."

Tang Moyu slid her hand into his and lightly gave his hand a squeeze. She knew well how much Feng Tianyi regretted not being part of the early years of their twins.

"Don't worry, Moyu. Next time you got pregnant, I promise I'll be with you." He grinned at her. There was no way he would miss the chance to look after his pregnant wife and see their newborn child.

The empress raised a slender brow in response. If there wasn't any danger threatening them these days, she had no doubt that Feng Tianyi would try to convince her to have another child.

Well, he did tell her a few months ago but that was before she and her siblings got involved in a car accident.

"Ah, you are so certain to have another one soon?" Song Fengyan commented with a laugh. "But I think you need to convince Little Star to become a big sister first," he reminded his cousin.

This was true. Little Star was very vocal about not wanting another baby coming from her parents, much to Feng Tianyi's disappointment. It seemed to them that their daughter wasn't willing to give up her position as the youngest yet, and wasn't willing to become a big sister.

As long as their little girl disapproved, Feng Tianyi wouldn't be able to convince his wife to have another child.

"See? I told you, you spoiled her too much. Now, she wouldn't even try to listen to you," Tang Moyu rebuked, watching her husband's crestfallen face.

"Moyu, help me convince, Little Star," he begged with puppy eyes. "I know she would listen to you if you try to talk to her."

"You admit your mistakes now?" she asked him.

"Yes, yes. You are right, darling. I was wrong," Feng Tianyi easily conceded. Since he was the one who spoiled the children the most, the disciplinary actions and responsibilities fell into Tang Moyu's hands.

Song Fengyan shook his head amusedly. His cousin was totally whipped by the empress. Meanwhile, He Lianchen finally calmed down and waited patiently outside the delivery room with the three.

Since he and Gu Yuyao didn't have relatives to rely on, having these three with him was enough for He Lianchen. Thinking about it, ever since Feng Tianyi decided to return to the country, their lives had turned for the better.

Feng Tianyi was able to find out about the existence of his twins and Tang Moyu while he, He Lianchen, was able to be reconciled with and married to the love of his life. Even Song Fengyan had managed to know about Lan Yunru, his daughter with Lan Xiyan.

The more He Lianchen thought about it, the more he was satisfied with his life now. These three weren't blood related to him nor Gu Yuyao but they came here in a heartbeat not caring if he'd called them at ungodly hours.

Three hours later, two nurses came out with one of them holding He Lianchen's new born son.

"Congratulations. Madam gave birth to a healthy baby boy," they greeted the new father.

"How's my wife? Is she okay?" He Lianchen didn't forget to ask about the condition of his wife.

"She's doing well, Sir. We will transfer her to a private room soon," the other nurse responded.

"Quick, Lianchen. See who your baby took after." Song Fengyan nudged his friend who was in a daze as he looked at the chubby sleeping face of his son, still in the arms of the nurse, waiting for him to take the baby.

He Lianchen accepted his baby from the nurse in spite of being nervous that he might hurt his child. The baby yawned and wiggled in his arms as if he was aware of being checked out by his aunt and uncles.

"Oh, he's beautiful. I remember Baobao being small like this." The empress let a smile spread on her face as she took a first look on her friends' firstborn.

"He doesn't look like you, Lianchen," Song Fengyan commented once they got a better view of the baby.

"Is it just me or he resembled Gu Yuyao's brother?" Feng Tianyi rubbed his chin as he tried to remember Gu Zhihao's facial features.

"Then that's good." He Lianchen smiled. "I think Yaoyao would love him more if he does."

Gu Yuyao loved her older brother and probably still missed him until this day. If Gu Zhihao didn't lose his life so soon, He Lianchen was sure his brother-in-law would also love and pamper his nephew just like he did Gu Yuyao.
