Yan Qiuyu 1
The devil was impressed at how Tang Moyu had easily spotted the errors he'd overlook in the proposal he'd presented earlier and was able to pinpoint how they could increase the chances of beating the Han Corporation in a single strike. Tang Moyu definitely deserved her former title as the "Empress of the Business World".
Even though Xiao Xing Diamond Co. was still new and was being represented by Song Fengyan, the funding of the company had come from Feng Tianyi and the empress herself. But since she was too busy to oversee it, the devil and Song Fengyan had to do all the work related to the company.
There were a lot of things to do and both cousins had spent more than two weeks working on it, which kept them incredibly busy.
"So instead of just cutting and polishing, we would also be participating in mining. Are you sure about this, Moyu? Won't this cost us too much along the way?"
Not that Feng Tianyi was lacking money, he was just curious why Moyu opted to participate in every step of the production.
"It would cost us more, yes, but the profit should be more than enough to cover everything and would give us more in the future." She gave him a quick side glance before turning her attention back on the road.
Cutting and polishing diamonds alone would cost them a hefty amount of money. They would need to use the most advanced equipment at all the main stages of manufacturing diamonds as well as setting up a plant with at least 4,000 personnel.
Since Tang Moyu put it that way, Feng Tianyi decided to trust her judgment and would keep an eye on any problem that might arise in the future.
Jiangmen was one of the cities in Guangdong Province and was famous for being the hometown of overseas citizens. The watchtowers scattered around the countryside were known as heritage sites, something that Moyu's little buns would love to see, if only it was a planned vacation trip. From the wide-open rice fields to densely packed bamboo forests, each of the watchtowers varied in style and had a moving story on its own.
"Too bad Baobao and Little Star couldn't come with us. Jiangmen is a nice city with magnificent attractions. I'm sure they would love it." Feng Tianyi sighed as he finished reading the documents and chose to do sightseeing from where he was seated.
"You've been here before?" Tang Moyu asked curiously. She did remember him saying that he used to travel a lot in the past, one of the reasons why they had never met each other before.
"I'm curious, Moyu. What triggered your interest in becoming a businesswoman?" He asked the empress out of the blue. They were still on the road and it would take some time before they reached their destination.
Tang Moyu was certainly not like other women, who usually were more interested in fashion and socializing. In fact, she was pretty bad at the latter. If she didn't have Lu Tianxin or Li Meili on her side, the empress would have been socially awkward if she attended gatherings and parties on her own.
"Hmm?" Tang Moyu considered his question. Aside from liking numbers and making money, what else could be the reason?
"Aside from the numbers being logical and consistent, I like the challenges it presents to me." She replied.
"I thought it was because of the boy you promised to marry when you were younger." Feng Tianyi teased her, his eyes had a mischievous glint in it. He should be jealous of whoever it was, but his ego wouldn't allow him to do so.
He would make sure to conquer each space in the empress's heart until Tang Moyu wouldn't get any chance to look for another man. Whoever that boy was, he was too late because the devil didn't have a single intent of letting Tang Moyu get away from him.
Tang Moyu frowned, her eyes still on the road. Just where did Feng Tianyi hear such information? Was it from Li Meili?
Her hands tightened on the steering wheel. Damn, that woman. Can't she keep the information to herself?
"What about it? It was just a silly childish promise to a stranger." She replied.
Would he make an issue out of it? She wondered.
The devil shrugged and looked away.
"Over my dead, delicious body." He muttered to himself.
"What?" Tang Moyu snapped her head towards him before forcing herself to turn her attention back on the road. What the hell was he talking about?
"Nothing. I was just curious. I thought you would honor such kinds of promises."
The thought of someone taking the empress away from him didn't sit well with the devil. He refused to give her up to anyone. Why couldn't he have met her earlier? No matter if she was merely a kid or not, it should have been him whom she made a promise to marry, not some random boy she met.
The empress shook her head and checked the map on her phone. There were really times when she couldn't understand what he was thinking. He says one thing, then gets annoyed later.
Tang Moyu made a mental note to ask Gu Yuyao or Li Meili's opinion about it. She must be missing something.
Half an hour later, Tang Moyu's car pulled up in front of a private apartment complex at Jiangmen.
