Visiting Mommy Fen 1
She accepted the envelope and stared at it for a moment, feeling her heart beating faster than usual. This was the answer she'd been looking for, but why was she hesitating to open it?
"Moyu?" Feng Tianyi's voice brought her back to reality.
"Oh, right."
She took a deep breath and pulled the papers out of it. The photo clipped on top of the first page got her attention. It was a picture of a smiling young woman in her early twenties. Although it was black and white, Tang Moyu could see the resemblance between them, except for her eyes.
Yan Qiuyu looked so young in her photo, she thought. Checking the first page, she read everything that was listed as Yan Qiuyu's personal information. A woman who'd lost her parents in a fire at the age of eight, Yan Qiuyu was raised by her grandfather until he died at old age.
After her grandfather's death, Yan Qiuyu moved to Shenzhen to start working while she studied nursing at the same time. Years later, she became a nurse and worked at the city hospital.
She met Tang Lixue at the hospital she was working in when Elder Tang was admitted for his chronic illness. The two became acquainted with each other before eventually falling in love.
Three years after their meeting, Yan Qiuyu gave birth to a pair of twins named Tang Moyu and Tang Lingjun. Tang Lingjun was apparently the younger twin brother Moyu had lost along with her birth mother.
The year of their birth was a year earlier than the marriage between Tang Lixue and Zhang Wuying, only solidifying the truth that Tang Moyu was definitely not Zhang Wuying's daughter.
Tang Moyu placed the papers on top of the coffee table as she gave it a good thought.
In the first year of their marriage, Zhang Wuying and her father had already adopted the five year old, Tang Wanyu. The following year, Tang Moyu, who was two years old then, was taken in by the Tang family after her mother's death.
A few years later, Zhang Wuying brought home Tang Beixuan and Tang Moyu was soon announced as Feng Tianhua's future wife. Since then, her days were filled with endless lessons, giving her no spare time to enjoy her life as a child.
Aside from Yan Qiuyu's information. There wasn't any information on what happened in the past and what kind of relationship her father had with Zhang Wuying.
Why did her father marry Zhang Wuying instead of her birth mother anyway? Tang Moyu couldn't understand. Why did he abandon the woman he'd been with for the past three years and left Yan Qiuyu with his twins to marry that wretched woman?
"I'm just curious… curious about what kind of woman she was. Did she love me? Did she care for me?"
Tang Moyu wanted to know so badly if Yan Qiuyu ever loved her before her death, because Zhang Wuying had always tried to make her feel bad whenever she got a chance to bully her.
"I can't answer you, Moyu." The devil sighed before taking her hand in his, marveling how her hand seemed to fit with his. "But we found a person who might have the answers to your questions." He added.
If it's for Tang Moyu, the devil was willing to go an extra mile just to get her what she wanted. This was why it took longer for him to find information on Yan Qiuyu, because he knew the empress wouldn't be satisfied with personal details alone. She would need better answers than that.
"You do?" She blinked in surprise, not expecting him to find more than she'd asked.
It was already enough for her that he'd helped him find out anything about Yan Qiuyu, since she wasn't even sure how long it would take for her to complete the task on her own. But for him to dig deeper about her birth mother, it made Tang Moyu appreciate him more.
"En." The devil reaffirmed. "But she's not here in Shenzhen. I can arrange our trip to see her, but that would mean we have to leave the twins here."
Tang Moyu creased her brows. She didn't like the idea of leaving her little buns at home whenever she had a business trip, but it couldn't be helped. Recently, since Feng Tianyi was with them, she wasn't worried too much that they would miss her or cause trouble while she was gone.
When they went to Beijing to pick up Gu Yuyao, they weren't gone for too long, so she didn't mind leaving them in Li Meili's care. However, it would be a different matter if she had to make this trip with Feng Tianyi, alone. She's also not sure if her twins would demand to come along or not.
"I know the perfect person who would love to look after them." Feng Tianyi said, sensing her hesitation to leave her children.
"And that is?" She raised a brow at him, curious to know who it was.
"Why, my mother of course. I'm not sure what kind of trick they used to tame my mother, but they have successfully wrapped her around their fingers. Mother always asks about them whenever she calls instead of asking about how her own son was doing. Can you believe it?" He said in disbelief.
It was really surprising for him that Moyu's little buns were able to tame the empress dowager at their first meeting. Lady Song doted on those little buns as if they were her own grandchildren. Feng Tianyi was glad that they got along well, something he had not seen from his mother before.
