Do You Hear What My Butt Said? 2
Feng Tianyi flipped the page of the documents his cousin brought with him today. Even though he wasn't actively working at Qing Tian Group, he had to help his mother oversee the deals and contracts their company was receiving from their prospective partners.
"Moyu already knows the truth about me," he said in a voice so low that Song Fengyan almost missed it if he wasn't sitting across him.
"She what?! Are you sure about this? I'm pretty sure none of the PIs would be able to track Qin Jiran back to you. We've been doing this for years and I'm sure that there wasn't anything that could be traced back to you, unless your publisher reveals your identity. But that's not possible since you both signed a non-disclosure agreement to protect your privacy."
It didn't make sense to Song Fengyan as he and He Lianchen had done their best to protect Qin Jiran's privacy from his massive fandom and paparazzis who wanted a piece of him to sell to the public.
Even someone like Tang Moyu would have a hard time establishing a connection between Qin Jiran and Feng Tianyi, so how did the empress come to know of the devil's real identity?
"She didn't run a check on me. I confessed everything to her." There was a hint of sadness in Feng Tianyi's voice, which Song Fengyan noticed.
Song Fengyan looked at his cousin like he just lost his mind. Feng Tianyi actually came clean to the empress and revealed himself as Feng Tianyi? Was he serious?
"But why?" He couldn't understand. Didn't the devil initially want to keep it a secret from her? Why did he suddenly confess?
"Because I didn't want her to misunderstand. It's better for me to admit it than to hear it from another person. She likes Qin Jiran, the person she'd been living with for the past few months but what about Feng Tianyi? What is he to her?"
In Tang Moyu's mind, they were two different people and it would take her some time to understand and to accept that he wasn't simply Qin Jiran.
"Well, I'm surprised she hasn't kicked you out yet. I was expecting her to throw a fit and accuse you of betraying her trust." Song Fengyan knitted his brows. "What did she say anyway?"
Feng Tianyi's lips curled into a bitter smile.
It would have been better if Tang Moyu reacted like that. He would accept all the screaming, yelling or even if she chose to slap him for trying to keep his identity from her for so long. However, the empress only stared at him blankly before nodding her head. It was hard for him to figure out what she thought of him now.
"I'm not pretending, Moyu. The person you've been with, the person you're still talking to is still me. Whether I am Qin Jiran or Feng Tianyi?in your eyes, what I feel for you and for your children remain the same." He corrected her.
"Then why didn't you introduce yourself as Feng Tianyi during our first meeting?"
"Would you have allowed me to become your friend if you knew? Would you allow me to keep my friendship with your twins despite knowing that I'm the brother of the person who wronged you years ago? Moyu, the three of you have become part of my life. If you hate me because of Tianhua, don't you think it is unfair? What have I done wrong to earn that hate?"
Tang Moyu broke their eye contact and looked down at the ground as if it was better to look at it than to face him. Half of her face was now covered with darkness as the sun had finally set and the night had overtaken the sky. She rubbed her left arm with her right hand and sighed.
"You are right. I need time to figure this out."
"You should," Feng Tianyi agreed. "Whatever decision you make, I'll respect it. If you want me to leave this place, I will. But please, Moyu, allow me to see your children once in a while. I really like being in their company."
Tang Moyu nodded her agreement before excusing herself to go back to the guest house to see her children while Feng Tianyi remained seated on his wheelchair next to the weeping cherry tree, which had become the only witness of the love that was about to bloom between them. He hoped that it wouldn't wither before it had a chance to bloom.
It would be an understatement to say that she was shocked because there weren't enough words to explain what Tang Moyu was feeling right now. This wasn't what she'd been expecting to hear from Qin Jiran, who had been her anchor and a friend ever since they met.
However, she also couldn't just overlook the fact that he'd hid his identity from her to this day, especially the fact that he was Feng Tianhua's half brother.
"So she hasn't said anything to you since then?" Song Fengyan asked Feng Tianyi, pulling him back to reality.
"En, but that's alright. She can have all the time she needs. I'm not going to force her into something she doesn't like." He replied.
If they were to become a couple, he wanted it to be built over friendship and trust. This was why he'd chosen to lay everything out to Tang Moyu, for her to be able to see what kind of person the real Qin Jiran really was.
Feng Tianyi was done hiding as Qin Jiran. This time, he wanted Tang Moyu to see him as Feng Tianyi.
