magic124 Is It Just in Your Mind, Qin Jiran? 2
At the guest house in Peach Blossom Garden, Feng Tianyi fed the pair of little buns their breakfast as Tang Moyu hadn't returned from her run yet. It was already seven in the morning and Xiao Bao and Little Star woke up too early today.
When Tang Moyu arrived, she was surprised to see a complete meal waiting for her on the dining table while Qin Jiran was busy working in the kitchen. This was just another normal day for the four of them, and yet it always made Tang Moyu feel at ease compared to the old days.
"What are you doing?" She asked curiously as she took a seat and started eating her breakfast. From where she was seated, she could hear Xiao Bao and Little Star's laughter as they marked the calendar counting the days till they could harvest their crops.
"Ah, Yu Gege, sixty days have passed! We only need to wait a few more days to harvest the honeydews!" Little Star exclaimed, excited to see how large their honeydews were now.
"En!" Her twin brother agreed with her. He counted the honeydews one by one, making sure he didn't miss anything. Their Daddy Ji had made a good job of teaching him how to count up to the thousands. " We have seventeen honeydews, Little Star. This should be enough to feed everyone, right?"
"Then eight for you, eight for me. Who'll get the last honeydew then?" Little Star asked.
"I thought you said we are going to share them?" Xiao Bao knitted his brows in confusion.
Tang Moyu shook her head and thanked Qin Jiran for her new cup of coffee. She really liked how he brewed her coffee as they weren't too bitter on her taste buds.
Feng Tianyi accompanied her as she ate before offering her a dessert she couldn't turn down.
"I tried a new tiramisu recipe last night, wanna try it?"
"Hmm… can I have one big slice please?" She asked unabashedly. Qin Jiran had never failed to amaze her with his amazing culinary skills. His dishes were on par with those restaurant-quality meals she'd tried before. She was pretty sure that if he wasn't a popular author, he could be a good cook.
Before Tang Moyu could devour her dessert clean, He Lianchen and Gu Yuyao arrived and joined them. This time, Gu Yuyao and Qin Jiran didn't start a fight as soon as they saw each other. In fact, they only gave each other a nod before totally ignoring each other.
"Aww, we're late. There's no free breakfast for us, honey." Gu Yuyao said with a grin, causinge He Lianchen to shake his head and went ahead to borrow Feng Tianyi's kitchen.
"How do you like your eggs, Yaoyao?" He Lianchen asked. He wasn't sure if her food preference was still the same as ten years ago.
Gu Yuyao, who was sitting beside the empress, propped up her elbows on the table and cupped her chin with both hands.
"Fertilized." She replied without batting an eyelid.
Tang Moyu choked and reached for the glass of water near her while Feng Tianyi patted her back gently.
"Now, now, you have to slow down, Moyu. No one's taking away your food." He said with amusement, which immediately earned a cold glare from the empress.
"Yaoyao, I swear you are as bad as Meili now. She's rubbing too much on you." Tang Moyu said once she found her voice again. Maybe it was her own fault for introducing them to each other. She never thought that Li Meili would be able to?influence this friend of hers like this.
Gu Yuyao chuckled at that and waved her hand. The light caused the engagement ring on her finger to glimmer when it hit the precious stone.
They hadn't chosen a date yet, but it was clear that her grandfather wanted to be an active participant in their wedding plans as he planned to compensate for the years of not being able to spoil his granddaughter. They wouldn't be able to turn back time, but they would still be able to compensate for it.
"What? I'm already thirty-three, Moyu. My body clock won't wait for us. We need to work on it if we want to have our own little buns soon, right honey?" She sang sweetly to He Lianchen.
"Yes! Whatever my wifey said is right!" The three could hear He Lianchen's response from the kitchen.
Feng Tianyi tried not to roll his eyes at his friend. How dare He Lianchen call him a house husband? Look who's talking! He's already whipped by Gu Yuyao, that too even before marriage! What a hypocrite!
"He Lianchen, you better make sure that your genes are stronger than Sister Yaoyao's, or else your child might end up a monster." He commented, fully aware of how Gu Yuyao was glaring daggers at him. Tang Moyu felt another headache coming her way as the two started arguing in front of her once again. Just as she thought that these two had grown up, they started to act like kids again.
"Sister Moyu, just in case you two decide to do the deed and he manages to knock you up, you better make sure that the child doesn't have small horns peeking on its head. You shouldn't bear a devil's spawn at any cost." Gu Yuyao retorted, clearly annoyed that the devil was picking a fight with her again.
