"Not the one you need to be worrying about my ass." Jovani grumbled as he became aware of the dampness that was spreading on his hands from where he'd caught the other.
The idiot had been shot and he hadn't bothered to be say anything. Exactly the kind of thing that he didn't want to be dealing with at the current moment in time.
Though, he probably should have been more fair to Zane seeing as they didn't have the change to exchange too many words before the other passed out.
Jovani had to figure out rather quickly if it was loss consciousness due to blood loss or if something else was going.
Licking his bottom lip, he managed to carefully move Zane into a prone position on the grass. He needed him to be laying flat before he could start looking him over.
He grimaced at the scent of blood that assaulted his nose as soon as he opened the other's suit jacket. He would likely never get used to the metallic rusty smell.
Jovani worked quickly as he opened up the dress shirt the other had on underneath. He needed to ascertain where the bullet had hit in order to no how serious it was and there was too much blood on the dark blue dress shirt for him to be able to tell.
He jolted slightly just after he managed to find the bullet spot below the other's ribcage on the right side when his phone started vibrating in his pocket.
"This better be something good." He answered without looking to see who was calling.Zane was bleeding fairly badly but it didn't look to be fatal despite the other's pale complexion and the sweat that was forming on his forehead.
"Is everything okay, sir?" It was Alonso calling. For once he wasn't upset at his right-hand man for over worrying.
"Do you need me to answer that question or do you have some good news as to how far anyone is from the location I sent you?" Jovani asked as he stood up so he could start taking off his own suit jacket. He needed something to temporarily staunch the blood and he didn't bring a first aid kit with him.
"There should be someone enroot to you within the next few minutes. What are you looking at?" Alonso replied.
"One minute. Bloody Christ, I need to put you on speaker phone." Jovani replied as shifted the phone to speaker so that he could place it down next to him. He needed the use of both his hands for what he was dealing with.
"The Red Scorpion Boss is down. Shot not in a fatal location but he's lost a fair amount of blood that I am trying to deal with right now. Don't know about the status of the driver of Leo. Seems that both of them are unconscious as of right now." He explained best he could as worked out folding and bunching the shirt in a way that would help slow the flow of blood and allow him to put the right amount of pressure on it.
"There are also two other guys here. The ones I am assuming were supposed to be coming back to finish the job. Seems though that the job ended up finishing them." He was too focused on what was going on in front of him to really pay attention to the two unfamiliar deceased men that Zane had obviously killed.
It didn't take much to figure out which one of the two was responsible for killing the mafia. He got a bullet in the head in return for shooting the other.
"Can you put me on a calling with Romeo as well? I want you to make sure first though that Lena isn't around. The last thing we need right now is to worry about her on top of everything." Jovani requested of Alonso.
He did the best he could for the time being to make sure that the other wouldn't potentially bleed out before someone got there to help him. Knowing Alonso, he was fairly certain that the other would have already made the call to have a private ambulance arrive at their location.
"He says that it is safe to call." The other informed Jovani after he was standing back up again. He leaned down to pick up the phone to take it with him. Now that Zane was taken care of, he needed to shift his attention to the other two and how best to get them out of the car.
"Romeo. I know that we haven't had a chance to work that closely together yet, but I am going to be needing to ask a lot from you right now. Preferable things that will be kept from Lena for the time being. Hopefully, Samuel is there as well and will be able to help out with that?"
"He's already done quite a bit to make sure that nothing happens with the princess until we fully understand what is going on. I assume that your call means that you have some type of update?" Romeo asked.
Jovani was quiet for a moment as he glanced between the car and the man who was lying on the ground.
"An update indeed. Probably not the kind of one that you were hoping for. Honestly going to be needing a bit of help in dealing with it. Backend security if you could."
"What is that supposed to mean?" Samuel was the one who asked this question over the phone instead of Romeo.
"Something that I would rather you not worry about right now. I don't have the time to explain. The only thing that you both need to know at the current moment is that everyone is still alive. I need extra hands though if we want to keep it that way." Jovani replied.
He knew that he couldn't spare his cousin from the basics though he didn't want to go into too much detail as this wasn't something that he knew the other was yet used to dealing with.
"I don't have a lot of time to talk and my phone is almost dead as well. I just need to make sure that someone is going to be coming here rather quickly and everything that I am requesting is going to be covered." Jovani could tell without even doing anything that it was going to be a major pain to extract the other two from the tipped-over car.
Complaining about it wasn't going to do him any good though. He knew that Alonso would likely yell at him over it and tell him it was something he should be doing. Even if the other had been right, it wasn't like Jovani had a choice about the matter. Someone had to do it before things got worse and he just happened to be the one to draw the shortest straw at the current moment.
A straw that was going to be responsible for the safety or loss of life around him depending on how he approached the situation.
Which was the only real reason that he ended the call after making sure that Alonso and Romeo both knew what was expected of them. He needed to focus all of his attention on the task that was in front of him.
